How to Use Eclipse Animator: Getting Started

A practical onboarding path for Roblox Studio creators installing and opening Eclipse Animator for the first time.

Quick answer

Six steps: verify the Creator Store listing, install and restart Studio, bind a simple rig, create a tiny keyframed clip, save then learn export as a separate step, then open controls / loop tools once the first clip works.

1. Verify the listing

  • Start at a Creator Store entry (creator materials reference @riftkuro). Match the numeric asset ID — slug text including old PREORDER wording is secondary.
  • Use the Plugin Link Checker on this site to compare host and asset-ID shape before installing.

2. Install and restart

  • Install from the verified listing, then fully restart Roblox Studio.
  • Confirm the plugin appears under Plugins. If not, follow plugin-not-showing troubleshooting before continuing.
  • This site does not host plugin binaries.

3. Bind a simple rig

  • Insert a known-good R15 or documented compatible rig.
  • Select the rig, then activate the plugin so it binds to the selection.
  • If binding fails: deselect → reselect → reactivate — stale selection is the usual culprit.

4. First keyframes

  • Create or open a project in the editor.
  • Insert a few keyframes on major joints (creator tutorial lists V to insert, X to delete).
  • Keep the first clip short. Use the FPS & Duration Calculator when timing notes are in seconds.

5. Save, then export (separate steps)

  • Save the project for persistence.
  • Export is a separate operation — saving does not publish a Roblox animation asset.
  • Prefer a minimal control export before hero shots (see exporting guide).

6. Pick the next topic

  • Controls & keybinds search once a tiny clip works.
  • Loop seam checklist for cycles.
  • Companions guide only if you need Blender or video-preview workflows.
  • Change one unfamiliar setting family at a time (camera, IK, or layers).

Limitations of this guide

  • We do not claim partnership with Eclipse Animator authors.
  • Keybind tables are source-reviewed and version-sensitive.
  • If a community post conflicts with official docs, prefer official docs and mark community advice as unverified.
